This book contains standard detail drawings of roadworks aspects for use in the construction, reconstruction and maintenance of the Department of Transport's trunk roads. There are ten series of drawings: highway cross sections for ten different types or rural and urban roads. Lane widths and carriage markings for both motorways and rural all purpose roads are also provided; edge of pavement details; concrete carriageway; carriageway markings for rural motorways; distance marker posts; drainage; safety fences; fences, stiles and gates; underground cable ducts; and flexible composite carriageway. The drawings are compatible with, and should be used in conjunction with the Department of Transport's specification for highway works 6th edition, (IRRD 803111), method of measurement for highway works 3rd edition and library of standard item descriptions for highway works 3rd edition.
