DEVELOPMENT OF SHIP WAVES IN STRATIFIED LIQUID
Three-dimensional problem of nonsteady waves originated by ship's motion on the free surface and the interface of two liquids of different densities is investigated. Expressions are derived for the form and velocity of transversal and longitudinal waves on the free surface and interface in the ship's wake. It is shown that the depth of the ship's immersion influences only the wave's amplitude; however, the relation between the amplitudes of the corresponding surface and interface waves remains constant.
