SPECIFICATION FOR GROUND TREATMENT AND NOTES FOR GUIDANCE (IN 2 PARTS)

This document, which is published in two parts, sets out the specification for ground treatment. The first part contains the specification and is divided into six sections: general requirements for ground treatment work; vibrocompaction/vibroflotation; vibrated stone columns; dynamic compaction/consolidation; deep vertical drainage; and testing ground treatment. The second part, the notes, provides guidance on the specification and also on the allocation of responsibilites for providing adequate site investigation data. Consideration is also given to the contractual arrangements, design of the treatment, requirements for field testing and methods of measurement of the specialist works. (TRRL)
