RESEARCH ON SALT SLURRY CARRIER EQUIPPED WITH HYDRAULIC UNLOADING APPARATUS
Demand for salt is showing a heavy increase with the rapid development of the electrolysis industry and the imports of foreign salt now exceed 5 million t/yr to cover a shortage in the domestic supply, which is less than 4 million t/yr. Considering the fact that salt used by the electrolysis industry is always in liquid state, it seems possible to reduce the transportation cost of salt by using a large-sized salt slurry carrier equipped with hydraulic unloading apparatus. A series of researches has been carried out to develop a 60,000 dwt salt slurry carrier
