SIDE IMPACT PROTECTION IN PRODUCTION VEHICLES MDB-TO-CAR SIDE IMPACT TEST OF A 26 DEG CRABBED MOVING DEFORMABLE BARRIER TO A 1987 NISSAN SENTRA AT 33.5 MPH
The report documents a crash test to evaluate side impact protection. Testing was conducted on a 1987 Nissan Sentra 2-door Sedan. The test vehicle was impacted on the left side by a moving deformable barrier. The test was a simulation of a 90 degree intersection collision with the striking vehicle travelling at 30 mph and the struck vehicle travelling at 15 mph. Occupant responses of two side impact dummies were measured.
