RESEARCH ON THE RELIABILITY OF VEHICLE COMPONENTS
RICERCA SUL 'AFFIDABILITA' PER ORGANI DI AUTOVEICOLI
The research reported had two objectives: a) to establish the reliability of the weibull and log-normal models for representing the physical phenomenon of the fatigue of a car body subjected to torsional stresses, and b) to establish relationships between the failure process and the torsional cycles, as well as between the failure process and the varied loads applied during tests. Results show that both models permit a reliable interpretation of failure and its distribution when analysing torsional stresses in car bodies from applied loads. /TRRL/
