DEVELOPMENT AND DEMONSTRATION OF LOW-NOISE MANIPULATION-PROOF VEHICLES OF THE MOFA- AND MOPED/MOKICK-CATEGORY
ENTWICKLUNG UND DEMONSTRATION LAERMARMER, MANIPULATIONSSICHERER FAHRZEUGE DER MOFA- UND DER MOPED/MOKICK-KLASSE
Various motorcycles of the mofa- and the moped/mokick-category were used to work out solutions to reduce noise emissions and to prevent abuses. Based on a systematic study and analysis of the noise sources, various measures had to be taken to reduce mechanical engine noises, sources of sound at the exhaust and intake system and the vehicle's sources of noise. Noise emissions at maximum speed of 63 dB(A) for mofas, 67 dB(A) for mopeds and 68 dB(A) for scooters were achieved. This means a reduction of 3 dB(A), 7 dB(A) and 4 dB(A).
