THE NETHERLANDS COMMEMORATIVE VOLUME XI ICS MFE 1985

This book attempts to give some idea of the work the Dutch geotechnical profession has been undertaking in recent years. It is in two parts: Part A describes the knowhow, while Part B describes applications of the former. It covers the following topics: Part A: geology, field investigations; laboratory investigations; design of foundations and earthworks; construction methods; environmental engineering; long term behaviour; fundamental research; Part B: foundation of structures; industrial plants; roads; railways; bridges and viaducts; tunnels; inland waterways, locks and weirs, oosterschelde storm surge barrier; quaywalls in the port of Rotterdam; offshore structures. This volume was produced by the Netherlands member society in honour of the fiftieth anniversary of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering.
