THE DESIGN FOR LATERAL STABILITY OF NONUNIFORM BEAMS. ACMSM 9; THE NINTH AUSTRALASIAN CONFERENCE ON THE MECHANICS OF STRUCTURES AND MATERIALS, 29-31 AUGUST 1984, UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY
There is no current recommendation in the Australian, New Zealand, European, American or Japanese codes of practice for structural steelwork for determining the maximum safe unsupported length for nonuniform beams restrained at intervals along the tension flange by secondary members spanning between main frames. A simple design method is presented for checking the elastic instability of nonuniform beams. (Author/TRRL)
