This paper describes the principal uses to which bitumen emulsion is put by the Main Roads Department of Western Australia. It details the Department's experience with emulsions in surface enrichment, two coat seal and stabilisation works, including information on specifications, costs and quality control. Properties that ideal emulsions should possess for improved results for enrichment and seal work are discussed to promote an exchange of information with emulsion producers. For the covering record of the workshop see IRRD 283860. (Author/TRRL)
