APPLICATION OF NEW TECHNOLOGY IN TRAFFIC STUDIES. MANAGING OUR ENVIRONMENT AND CARING FOR PEOPLE: THIRD NATIONAL LOCAL GOVERNMENT ENGINEERING CONFERENCE 1985

The use of the Sharp PC 1500 and associated equipment has provided considerable benefits in traffic surveys by reducing the cost of data collection, minimising errors, and removing the time consuming task of having to manually transfer data from field sheets onto the computer for processing and analysis. The use of this new technology, and in the future hardware specifically developed for data collection, should bring about improved efficiency and cost effectiveness in the area of traffic studies.
