PREVENTION OF INJURIES INFLICTED TO CHILDREN IN THE REGION OF SUBOTICA. PROCEEDINGS I - II INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF TRAFFIC MEDICINE IN YUGOSLAVIA, DUBROVNIK, YUGOSLAVIA, SEPTEMBER 25-29, 1984

PREVENCIJA POVREDA DECE U SUBOTICI

Details are given of the planning of lectures to the public to make the latter aware of the principles of the psychophysical development of a child in a manner understood by the public. The only possible method of preventing children's injuries rests in the adaptation of adults to the requirements of the psychophysical development of a child. In 1975 a multidisciplinary council was held on this issue in Subotica and since then systematic activities have been reported in that area. Each year 23-30 lectures are given to parents of preschool and school children, class teachers and to a lesser extent to the public. In time the interest in the work on this problem has increased both with the lecturers and with the public. Over the past year a number of popular lectures on sport-related injuries and their prevention was given. For the covering abstract of the whole conference see IRRD 280469. (TRRL)
