THE CHEMICAL COMPOSITIION OF SYDNEY BROWN HAZE

During May and October 1978, samples of airborne particulate matter were collected at a number of sampling sites in the Sydney basin. The data for October 1978 are examined in greater detail because sampling was performed throughout the night on a number of occasions during this campaign. The chemical composition of the aerosol responsible for the formation of Sydney brown haze (sbh) during this period is presented, along with its spatial and temporal variations. In addition, data concerning elemental size distributions in the haze aerosol during May-June 1979 are reported. For the abstract of the covering entry of the conference see IRRD 283762.
