EXPERIENCE WITH CONDITION MONITORING IN OTHER INDUSTRIES

Condition monitoring has already been in use for at least twenty years in civil aviation, high output process plant and defence equipment, as well as in various other applications. The object of this paper is to try to distil some of the experience that has been acquired in these areas as a basis for future developments in vehicle condition monitoring.
