NOISE ABATEMENT
GELUIDBESTRIJDING
The Dutch noise nuisance act is intended to prevent serious forms of noise nuisance. In general road traffic is the main source of nuisance. The possibilities of preventing and of combatting this nuisance and the effects of the various measures -more quiet vehicles, road surface layers which reduce the tyre noise, control of the traffic intensity, noise barriers and in extreme cases even roofing -are described.
