HOW ACCESSIBLE IS DELFT CENTRAL STATION?
HOE BEREIKBAAR IS HET DELFTSE CENTRAAL STATION?
The accessibility of railway stations with slow transport modes (bicycle, foot) is one of the current policy interests of the Dutch government. To this end a study has been initiated in Delft, a middle-sized Dutch town, to investigate the effects of bicycle enhancement measures. Part of these measures is the construction of a bicycle underpass under the station crossing the railway line. This paper presents initial results of a survey into the travel behaviour of train users, especially with respect to bicycle use in access to and egress from the station.
