SOME OBSERVATIONS ON THE INTERPRETATION OF THE RESULTS OF DEFLECTOGRAPH TESTS ON HIGHWAY PAVEMENTS

In this article, following some general comments on deflectograph measurements, a methodology and numerical coefficients are proposed, aimed at obtaining greater precision in calculating the modulus of deformation of highway pavements. The author quantifies errors resulting from the use of the 'coefficient of proportionality', which is a function of the pavement stiffness and the coordinates of the point at which the deflection is measured. New coefficients are proposed which take account of the true form of the test load. (TRRL)
