APWA REPORT - PART II
Railroad crossings and rubber crossing systems, and graffiti-fighting systems are discussed. A shimless rubber crossing system of solid rubber to fit rail size from 80 to 140 lbs and tie lengths from 8 to 9 ft, and with customer fitting, is described. Another features a tongue-and-groove system that eliminates the need for lag screws. A highway-type rubber/steel reinforced crossing which fits rail sizes up to 155 lbs and ties from 8.5 to 8.75 ft in length is also noted. A graffiti-fighting system that gets rid of existing graffiti and makes removal of future graffiti easier is described.
