GETTING YOUR MONEY'S WORTH WITH SKID-STEER LOADERS

The versatile skid-steer loader can be used, with a quick-change attachment coupler, to plow snow on sidewalks and streets, dig, drill, sweep, and more. This article describes the addition of a multi-purpose bucket, the design of which follows aerodynamic engineering principles, allowing light weight, yet providing the needed strength for effective action. As many as 40 attachments are available for skid-steer loaders. The most common of them are noted. Some manufacturers offer machine and/or attachment rental programs. A table is presented of skid-steer loaders, manufacturers, models, measurements, and operating load capacity, together with comments.
