AERODYNAMIC - STABILITY TESTS ON A MODEL OF THE HUMBER BRIDGE TOWERS
The tests were carried out on a linear-mode model representing the tower columns at the stage of construction at which the columns are complete but independent of each other, i.e. before the start of construction of the portal beams. The results indicate that the columns would be subject to a vortex and a galloping excitation but, because of the inherent structural damping, the response to the excitation should be small. /TRRL/
