ON THE QUESTION OF LONGITUDINAL BENDING OSCILLATIONS OF BEAMS
The problem of free longitudinal bending oscillations of a bent beam is considered under the assumption that the relationship between twisting and bending oscillations is slight; the n-bend beam is replaced by an n-span three-dimensional frame, the rods of which coincide with geometric axes of the pins and sides of the bends. The author uses a force method to obtain the equations for the longitudinal bending oscillations. The equations are written in matrix form. The author proposes considering the system of equations derived together with the boundary conditions to obtain the frequency equation.
