ULTRA-LIGHT BITUMEN TESTED IN AUSTRALIA
A new ultra-light bitumen developed as an alternative to grading unsealed roads several times a year is being tested in Australia. The new cutback bitumen seal is expected to stay intact for three or four years and provide sealing on roads where conventional sealing was not justified because of the relatively low traffic volume. The ultra-light surfacing will cut down on dust and is expected to prove no more costly than grading these roads several times a year.
