NEW GUIDED GROUND TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS DRIVEN BY DC LINEAR MOTOR
Railway systems now mainly share medium distance intercity transportation and urban mass transportation in Japan. It is necessary to make a comfortable, high-speed, low-noise, low-cost and energy-effective transportation system. We proposed a new guided ground transportation system driven by dc linear motor to cope with this demand for urban and intercity passenger transport in Japan. This paper describes construction, principle, characteristics, control system and design of the dc linear motor and the transportation systems driven by it. (Edited author abstract)
