DEVELOPMENT OF INSPECTION TECHNIQUES FOR REINFORCED CONCRETE: A STATE OF THE ART SURVEY OF ELECTRICAL POTENTIAL AND RESISTIVITY MEASUREMENTS FOR USE ABOVE WATER LEVEL

This report is based on work carried out to evaluate electropotential and resistivity ndt techniques in order to assess their usefulness and limitations for detection of corrosion of steel reinforcement in the splash and atmospheric zones of concrete marine structures. Eight chapters cover: 1, introduction; 2, the electrical potential of steel in concrete; 3, the electrical resistance/resistivity of concrete; 4, condition surveys of reinforced concrete structures; 5, criteria for evaluation; 6, conclusions; 7, recommendations for further work; and 8, further work in the concrete in the oceans program.
