TOWARDS BETTER COMPACTION. THIRD EDITION
This reference work has been prepared to what can be expected from compaction machines that are used by roadworks and reinstatement gangs, but is not intended to dictate what machines should be used. A glossary of terms, and a description of materials and rolling techniques is presented, preceded by an explanation of the use of the tables. Three types of compaction equipment in common use are covered: vibrating rollers, vibrating tampers, and vibrating plates. (TRRL)
