WYOMING'S COMPREHENSIVE REPORT ON TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS 1986
In 1986, 121,241 traffic accidents occurred in Wyoming: 146 fatal accidents resulted in 168 persons killed and 142 persons injured; 3,209 injury accidents resulted in injuring 4,806 persons; and 8,886 accidents were property damage only accidents. Alcohol and inattentive driver were the leading contributing human factors listed for fatal accidents, while unsafe speed and alcohol were the leading human factors listed in injury accidents. Failure to grant right-of-way and unsafe speed were the leading factors listed for property damage only accidents. This report presents information in the following areas: general data; the accident (accident severity, type, time, and road system); human element, environmental element; vehicle element; Wyoming city and town accidents; alcohol; 14-20 year old drivers; and special vehicles (trucks, school bus, motorcycle). The information is provided in the form of tables, charts, summaries, and graphs.
