PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT OF THE FEASIBILITY OF CONVERTING THE I-10 FRONTAGE ROADS TO AN EXCLUSIVE TRUCK FACILITY. INTERIM REPORT

This report examines the physical and economical feasibility of converting rural frontage roads to an exclusive truck facility. The I-10 freeway corridor from Houston to Beaumont is selected for this evaluation. Three basic options are incorporated in the analysis. These are: 1) assign truck traffic to existing frontage roads; 2) construct exclusive facility on one side of the freeway, and; 3) exclusive facility on both sides of the freeway.
