This volume contains the papers presented at the symposium. Centrifuge modelling is seen as an additional contribution to the design process making it particularly effective when novel or incompletely understood conditions prevail. The ultimate justification for the technique lies in its use for real, i.e., site specific, design. The papers reflect the wide range of philosophies for model use.
