DEFORMATION BEHAVIORS OF PLATES WELDED UNDER LOADING
This paper deals with maintenance, repair and rehabilitation of bridges. Many bridges, which have been constructed in the age of high growth of the economy, sustain damage, mainly due to heavy traffic, and need repair and/or strengthening. Characteristics of repair and strengthening works are to be done under loading and vibration. There are few studies in relation to welding of members in service condition though the use of welding in repair and/or strengthening works has many advantages. This paper describes some experimental and analytical studies on the effect of welding under loading on the deformation behaviors of plates.
