TOTAL FACTOR PRODUCTIVITY IN BUS TRANSPORT
This paper introduces a non-parametric technique for measuring total factor productivity (tfp). The dual to tfp, which is the cost efficiency, is applied to the intercity bus industry. The technique used enables the intertemporal average cost differentials to be decomposed into factor price effect, non-constant returns to scale effect, and a pure efficiency effect. (Author/TRRL)
