INTERNAL STRESSES IN CIRCULAR TUNNELS
ESFUERZOS INTERNOS EN TUNELES CIRCULARES
A numerical analysis of lining-terrain interaction of circular tunnels was carried out using a two dimensional finite element model which included, amongst other parameters, the field anisotropy and the stress field existing prior to excavation, as well as the behaviour at the interface and the different stages of construction. By simulating the excavation and construction of the tunnel the influence of these parameters on the lining thrust and bending moment was studied. The analysis assumed a homogeneous, linear elastic and continuous medium.
