CLASS BE 4/4 + BT MOTORCOACH TRAINS WITH CHOPPER DRIVES FOR SHUTTLE SERVICES ON THE FRAUENFELD-WIL RAILWAY

Five motorcoaches and four driving trailers were delivered to the Frauenfeld-Wil Railway Company in Eastern Switzerland. By referring to these vehicles, the authors describe electrical traction equipment, including the dc chopper, for a mains voltage of 1200 to 1500 v. Such equipment is in use on various lines in Switzerland and abroad. (Edited author abstract)
