GRAPHIC SYSTEM FOR COMPUTER-AIDED TRAIN CONTROL
GRAFIKSYSTEME FUER DIE RECHNERUNTERSTUETZTE ZUGUEBERWACHUNG
Graphic units similar to those for computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided engineering (CAE) are employed for computer-aided train control (CATC). Time-distance train lines are displayed on an all-graphic video terminal (on a vector or raster basis), and can be altered with the aid of graphic input units (e.g., ball or tablet) to resolve conflict situations. The author describes the graphic system types which are suitable for CATC and the demands made by CATC on a graphic system. Also described is the software system SIPROG (Siemens Interactive Processable Graphic System) and its use in CATC. (Author abstract)
