MEASUREMENT OF GASEOUS OXYGEN CONCENTRATIONS ABOARD SHIP
Discusses the various methods available for determining and monitoring the concentration of oxygen in gas mixtures and the suitability of these various approaches for shipboard use. The accurate and reliable measurement of oxygen concentrations in the holds of very large ocean-going tankers is of major importance for the safety of a ship fitted with inerting equipment as a means of preventing the build up of explosive gas mixtures above flammable liquid cargos.
