MILLION AWARDED DUE TO DOWNED STOP SIGN AT RURAL INTERSECTION

Consolidated actions brought against Madison County, Illinois, alleging negligent maintenance of a stop sign which had been leaning with its face almost to the ground for one to two weeks prior to the accident, resulted in the Circuit Court awarding $3,162,000 to these plaintiffs who were injured in an auto accident at that intersection. Details of the accident are described, and the County arguments are presented.
