TEST METHODS TO ASSESS THE PERFORMANCE OF ADMIXTURES IN CONCRETE
Admixtures can modify or improve the properties of both plastic and hardened concrete, but their full use will only be realized if objective information and test methods are available that enable users to assess the performance of specific products and their suitability for particular requirements. This article gives details of a Building Research Station investigation into methods of assessing the influence of admixtures on the workability, water content and setting characteristics of concrete.
