A PRELIMINARY STUDY OF THE FRACTURE OF CONCRETE BEAMS UNDER IMPACT LOADING, USING HIGH SPEED PHOTOGRAPHY
The fracture, under impact loading, of plain concrete, fibre reinforced concrete, and plain concrete with conventional reinforcement, was studied using high speed motion picture photography. Photographs were taken at a rate of 500 frames per second, which permitted the crack development during the fracture event to be monitored. This paper presents a photographic record of the crack patterns which developed during the impact loading of specimens in the form of beams. (Author/TRRL)
