PLAN OF NEW CONTAINER HANDLING AT INTERMEDIATE STATION
JNR has developed a container transfer machine for loading and unloading containers at intermediate freight stations. JNR had been planning to load and unload the containers at the train dock with this automatic container transfer device. Consequently computer simulation was performed to standardize the design of the facility and its layout in the station to assure practical utilization of the transfer unit.
