VIBRATION OF A PLATE WITH INTERNAL CONSTRAINTS
Plate vibration is an old subject in mechanics in which the boundary value problems have almost been exhausted. But in practice, very few plates are constrained only along the boundary. Internal constraints are often imposed on the plate in addition to its boundary conditions in the form of rivet and spot welding. A new algebraic method is applied to an internally constrained plate. The fundamental frequency modified by an internal constraint is displayed. Bounds on all frequencies are given.
