LIGHTING AND SIGNALLING FOR TRANSPORT

VERLICHTING EN SIGNALERING VOOR HET VERKEER

A report is presented of the first conference of the Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage (CIE), Division 4: Lighting and Signalling for Transport, held in Washington D.C. on July 24-28, 1984. Instead of about 30 technical commissions, seven divisions are now established which cover each a well considered and functional determined part of the area in which the CIE is interested. At this conference technical reports were presented on traffic signals, public lighting and accidents, lighting in urban areas, carriageway marking, traffic signs, design methods, tunnel lighting, vehicle lighting and application of reflectorized material and flashing lights.
