CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION'S RESPONSE TO HAZARDS OF THREE-WHEEL ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES (ATV'S). FORTIETH REPORT BY THE COMMITTEE ON GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS TOGETHER WITH ADDTIONAL AND DISSENTING VIEWS
The most significant safety related fact about ATVs is the unprecedented level of deaths and injuries associated with their use and the rapid increase in the rate of these casualties since the problem first became known to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The CPSC began to track down the extent of the problem since 1984 and conducted indepth investigations of accidents, met with industry representatives, and studied educational and training efforts. The CPSC's findings, conclusions and recommendations are presented in this report.
