THE BEHAVIOUR OF A SHIP IN HEAD WAVES AT RESTRICTED WATER DEPTHS
In this paper results are presented of tests with models sailing in head waves at restricted water depths of 1.875, 2.5 and 3.75, 2.5 and 3.75 times the ship's draught. Also results given of calculated ship motions in deep water. No attention is paid to ship motions in shallow water. A discussion is given about the influences of the water depth on the ship motions. It is shown how the ship motions at restricted water depths can be determined from the ship motions in deep water.
