MATCHING OF CAR POOLING
DIREKTBUSSAR OCH SAMAAKNING - SAMAAKNINGSMATCHNING
VTS Transportation Systems AB (VTS) has, in cooperation with Gothenburg Transport (GS), developed a computer-aided method to match car pooling passengers from large populations. The matching is done on the basis of a commuting register. Intervals for working hours are allowed at the matching. This implies that persons living within the same area and working at different companies near each other can be matched despite different working hours. The method was tested and it was checked whether the commuting register was up to date or not. The conclusions are that the method is excellent for matching of large populations and that commuting registers ought to be renewed constantly.(a)
