THEORY OF AIRFOIL APPLIED TO VOITH-SCHNEIDER PROPELLERS
ZUR TRAGFAECHENTHEORIE DES VOITH-SCHNEIDER-PROPELLERS
For optimum propulsion of ships and good maneuverability the propeller designed by Voith-Schneider shows best results. Its hydrodynamic theory is, however, very complex due to turbulent decay of freely induced wake. The calculations are presented for blade sections together with basic calculations for airfoils, circulation density and eddy currents.
