HYDRAULIC HOIST LOADS BARGES ON CARRIER
The new hydraulic hoist design uses a hydraulically powered winch system to operate the sternwell elevator for cargo load and unload. Efficient, self-controlled system reduces loading time to hours rather than days. The hydraulic hoist described can carry up to 24,500 long tons of cargo. The cargo is lifted aboard using the integral, hydraulically powered elevator in the sternwell of the ship.
