THE IMPACT OF ALTERNATIVE WORK SCHEDULES ON BUSINESS OPERATIONS
This study examines the impacts of implementing Staggered Work Hours, Flextime, and the Compressed Work Week from a business operations perspective. A survey of Chicago Central Area employers was undertaken in order to determine their attitudes toward each type of Alternative Work Schedule (AWS), in what manner they expect AWS to affect business operations and the relationship between peak hour congestion and employees work schedules. Chapter II presents a review of the literature on Alternative Work Schedules, Chapter III describes the survey methodology, and Chapter IV discusses the survey results.
