This article reviews some important developments in ground-supported concrete slab design. Aspects covered include: long strip construction; large area pours; wide strip slab construction; reinforcement; permanent concrete side forms; post-tensioned concrete slabs. Finishing and compaction methods and equipment are illustrated and briefly described. (TRRL)
