SHIP STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS AND INTERACTIVE GRAPHICS. PART II
This article discusses finite element analysis and design procedures for ship structures at Lloyd's Register of Shipping which have been integrated in a system known as LR SAFE (Ship Analysis using Finite Elements). In this article, the interactive graphics facilities associated with LR SAFE finite analysis and design procedures program for ship structures is described. The system and its objectives are discussed, and the hardware and structure of the system are described. Experiences with the system up to the time the article was written are discussed, and several possible future developments are also included in the discussion.
