AN INTEGRATED COMPUTING FACILITY FOR DATA ACQUISITION AND ANALYSIS

The paper describes the design detail of an integrated computing facility for data acquisition and analysis being developed for MIRA, and outlines the available software packages and their range of applications. Particular attention is given to the use of microprocessors in the transmitter and receiving systems of the telemetry orientated equipment package, and the degree of integration of the acquisition system with the main computing facility is detailed. The advantages and disadvantages of this type of system are summarised and suggestions are made regarding possible future modifications. (TRRL)
