LITERATURE REVIEW ON THE PRESCHOOL PEDESTRIAN
The purpose of this literature review was to describe (1) the factors leading to typical preschool pedestrian accidents, (2) the developmental characteristics of the preschool child that affect his/her behavior in traffic, (3) social factors that may place a preschooler at risk in traffic, (4) programs of traffic safety education for in-school and preschool use in the United States, and (5) preschool traffic safety programs developed by foreign countries. Detailed information relevant to each of these objectives is presented in this volume.
